LOVE LOCAL: SPARK CREATIVE LEARNING IN WINNIPEG

The Snowman, the animated holiday favourite about a little boy who goes on a magical journey with his snowman, and The Hockey Sweater, the iconic Canadian Roch Carrier story about a boy forced to wear a Toronto Maple Leafs sweater in his hockey-mad Quebec town, both come to life in this perfect winter show with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra on December 5. MTYP’s Midwinter Mosey (pictured) revisits three of MTYP’s best-loved holiday shows while audience members embark on a wintry walk. You and your loved ones will experience some of the most magical moments from A Charlie Brown Double Bill, The House at Pooh Corner, and A Year with Frog and Toad, all wrapped up in one heart-warming show. Scarves, toques, and mittens are encouraged as you and your loved ones promenade to different stations around MTYP’s facility and walk outdoors together through a winter wonderland. This annual event is piled high with tons of unusual fun! Guests enjoy a non-traditional spaghetti breakfast followed by holiday-themed activities including a snowman craft, Elfie Selfies, decorating holiday cookies with our special guests from Sweet Impressions, and a tour of the Eaton’s Fairytale Vignettes. Spaghetti Breakfast With Santa 2019

What Am I Supporting?

The Children’s Museum is a registered non-profit children’s charity #10348 0943 RR0001 that relies on earned revenue, including donations received through our fundraising events, to cover approximately 90% of our operating costs. As such, your support of the St. Vital Centre Behind Closed Doors event is extremely meaningful. Proceeds generated by this fundraising event will enable the museum to enhance exhibits, create educational programs, and help fund our Access Programs – including the Free2Play Access Program, the Rural Access Program, and the Explore-Abilities Access Program – which help to provide free museum visits and programming to under-supported children in Manitoba.
