LOVE LOCAL: SPARK CREATIVE LEARNING ONLINE

Source: Manitoba Music

As Winnipeg approaches another Canada Day, The Forks has announced that they’ll be presenting a virtual online show for the second year in a row. Join The Forks online on both Facebook and YouTube today at 1:00pm for a free 30-minute virtual program featuring some of Manitoba’s best performers:

  • Sage Percussion and Emily Solstice
  • Fortune Block
  • Plé Collective (Theatre Piece)
  • Rainbow Tornadoes with Sandi Bay
  • Mattmac with Boogey The Beat
  • Bîstyek
  • The 12/21 (O Canada to Fireworks)

In showcasing the rich and diverse talent found in our province and striving to acknowledge the history of the site and its origins, the Forks’ Indigenous Curator, Dr. Niigaan Sinclair, will offer some thoughts at the beginning of the show, which will be followed by a moment of silence to honour the children lost and now found.

Elders Barb and Clarence Nepinak will provide a blessing. Hosts Debbie Patterson and Ryan Guy Richard will kick off the show, and the show will wrap up with a virtual fireworks display.

Forks Merchant Rewards Program for Children’s Museum Members

As one of Manitoba’s most popular cultural institutions, the Children’s Museum is pleased to offer a Children’s Museum members-only discount opportunity exclusively for our Forks neighbours. This mutually beneficial partnership is a terrific way for onsite businesses to create and maintain connections with Children’s Museum members and grow lifetime relationships.

Participation as a reciprocal partner is easy – just complete and submit the form below! Children’s Museum members will then be encouraged to visit your business and present their active Children’s Museum membership card for a 10% discount or other special offer of your choice. (Note: Reciprocal partnerships are automatically renewed each year. Current participants are not required to complete this form unless you would like to change your offer or end this agreement.)

Please don’t hesitate to contact Miriam Betzner Christensen, Communications Coordinator, at 204.924.4007 if you have any questions. We are grateful for The Forks business community’s support of the Children’s Museum – a special place reserved for kids and for those who care about them!
