ALL ABOARD: WE’RE GATHERING STEAM

Indigenous STEAM Camp is a summer day camp for children and youth going into grades 1-6 this fall, hosted at the University of Winnipeg’s Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre. Youth will participate in activities that combine Indigenous knowledge with other science departments at the University of Winnipeg such as Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Biology.

Indigenous knowledge keepers will share traditional knowledge about many topics, including traditional medicines, star teachings, creation stories, traditional games, feasting ceremonies, water storage, and more. Activities also include hands-on experiments in labs on campus, math lessons, 3D printing, coding, dissections, as well as weekly field trips.

Indigenous STEAM Camp runs from 9:00AM to 3:30PM Monday to Friday with breakfast, lunch and a snack provided. Learn more and register.
