May 12 is Manitoba Day – which makes it the perfect day to learn more about the province we call home! Join us from 11:00AM – 3:00PM as we celebrate everything that’s great about Manitoba with a special craft, activity, and story times!


Manitoba Day School Programs

Attention Educators: Join us for Manitoba Day on Friday, May 12, 2017 and save! All community-themed school programs will be available at a special discounted price of $4.00 per student per program and will include special Manitoba crafts and activities in our galleries.

Eligible programs include:

  • Preschool: People In My Community
    Students will discover more about the people all around them who are responsible for helping and caring at home, at school, and in our community. What people do at work will come alive with creative dramatics and stories! Show what you want to be when you grow up by designing your own community helper headband.
  • Kindergarten: All Around Me
    Students will discover more about the people all around them who are responsible for helping and caring at home, at school, and in our community. What people do at work will come alive with creative dramatics and stories! Show what you want to be when you grow up by designing your own community helper headband.

  • Grade 1: All About Me
    You’re so special and it’s time to share why! Make your own tale come to life. What communities do you belong to? Students will use collaborative art to demonstrate their unique traits and represent their classroom community.

  • Grade 2: Our Community
    Students will discover more about their community in this energetic, outdoor walking tour of The Forks. Travel through time as we discover stories from our community’s past and present.

  • Grade 3: Around The World
    Students will discover more about people in communities around the world by creating their own community scene. It’s up to your students whether this is a community from the past or present!

  • Grade 4: Canadian Stories
    Students will discover more about the people and places in their cultural community through an energetic, outdoor walking tour of The Forks. Travel through time as we see the ways in which life in Manitoba has changed.

  • Grade 5: Outdoor Stories
    This guided outdoor walking tour will identify historical buildings, waterways, and sites at The Forks connected to the fur trade and early settlement. Dress for the weather as we highlight the past and the present with your students.
