ALL ABOARD: WE’RE GATHERING STEAM WITH NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC!

Here’s our list of this week’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) resources selected for helping you balance fun and learning while at home!

National Geographic Kids has a website jam-packed with all sorts of goodies to keep your little ones engaged for hours on end.

Check out their Science Lab for experiments that include elephant toothpaste, wiggly water, groovy lava lamps, and so much more. Enjoy these experiments as a family and talk about what you saw happening throughout the experiment!

Get ready for take-off and launch into space as you learn all about our solar system through facts, videos, and games.

Learn about countries around the world as you flip through photo slideshows and read about topics such as their history, culture, and wildlife.

Our world is filled with so many amazing animals. Explore the animal kingdom and learn more about mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and fish! Have your kids read about their favourite animals and then get them to tell you about what they just learned. For a fun break, sit down and watch the Party Animals Remix music video.

Did you know that gorillas burp when they are happy? Or that girls have more taste buds than boys?  Visit their Weird But True! section to learn fun facts for just about everything!

At the end of it all, quiz your child and let them showcase all of their new found knowledge! For more ideas of what to do, check out these at-home resources to keep your kids engaged and learning.

Stay tuned for more resources to help spark kids’ creative learning!
