Looking for a unique opportunity to develop skills in leadership, program delivery and communication? Eager to share your own abilities? Consider the Volunteer Program at the Manitoba Children’s Museum!
Manitoba Children’s Museum volunteers contribute to every aspect of activity at the museum. Volunteers spark kids creative learning, encourage exploration and discovery in our exhibits and galleries and enrich our programs and events.
We offer our volunteers:
- A great team environment
- Flexible schedules
- Training, coaching and recognition
- Experience in career-related area
- Letters of reference
- And more!
We depend on volunteers to bring their very best to their role at MCM. (Please note: The volunteer experience at MCM may not suit someone who is very reserved or cautious with people.)
We are currently accepting applications for the following volunteer positions:
- SHOP Customer Service Volunteer
- Summer Programming Volunteers
- Many more!
Anyone interested in becoming an MCM volunteer needs to complete a straightforward application process. The first step is to attend an information session. Information sessions are scheduled monthly on Saturday afternoons.
(Note: Volunteers must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18 years old, your guardian must attend the information session as well.)
Summer at the Manitoba Children’s Museum offers volunteer roles in the following areas: children’s programming, preschool and school programs, gallery activities, special events, SHOP, and our new temporary exhibit Attack of the Bloodsuckers.
Each year, the Manitoba Children’s Museum needs volunteer counsellors for our Kids Explore Summer Day Camp. Volunteer counsellors provide active and effective support of the MCM staff counsellors and the camp program. Day Camp volunteers should be 15 years of age or older. Each volunteer counsellor needs to attend an MCM volunteer information session and an orientation session.
The next volunteer information session(s) are scheduled for:
- Friday, July 9 at 10:00AM
- Saturday, July 10 at 1:00PM
- Friday, July 16 at 10:00AM
- Saturday, July 31 at 1:00PM
For more information or if you plan to attend one of the upcoming information sessions, please contact: Lynn, Volunteer Resources Manager, at (204) 924-4002. It is necessary to pre-register for information sessions.
