My staff friends at the Manitoba Children’s Museum will be downtown at the TD Canada Trust Book Sale on Friday, April 9 from 10AM - 2PM.
Come to the underground concourse of the CanWest Global Building and find Amanda and the gang from TD Canada Trust in the hallway opposite the branch (located at 201 Portage Avenue).
You can find books of all kinds there – books for mom or dad, or books for you! Last time I was there, I saw some great story books and joke books. It was a lot of fun!
Book prices are $1/each for soft covers and $2/each for hard covers.
All the money raised at the TD Canada Trust Book Sale will support the literacy programs at the Manitoba Children’s Museum. This means you’ll have lots of great special events to go to that will help you become a better reader and have fun at the same time!
Don’t forget, this Friday…we’ll be there from 10AM – 2PM.
See you there!

The Manitoba Children’s Museum will be OPEN on Good Friday (Friday, April 2, 2010) from 9:30AM - 4:30PM.
Wow - I can’t believe it’s the last day of Spring Break at the Manitoba Children’s Museum already!
We’ve had an incredible week of uninterrupted fun with special guests and daily activities, and the excitement continues with today’s agenda.
From 11:00AM – 3:00PM, my museum staff friends will be pleased to introduce you to Plant It Forward – a visionary group of individuals whose talents for creating artistic flowers out of everyday and recycled objects have now taken root in our community.
Now, considering that I woke up this morning to see snow on my front lawn (boooooo), their bright and cheerful creations are even MORE welcome as they might be the only spring flowers I’ll get to see today – ha ha ha!
Looking forward to seeing you and your family at the museum,

Spring Break’s still on in full force at the Manitoba Children’s Museum!
I’m looking forward to meeting the gang from Avian Welfare Canada, who are coming by the museum from 11:00AM – 3:00PM today. Our museum programming team tells me that Avian Welfare Canada is a group dedicated to the welfare of companion exotic birds. They promote healthy guardian/bird bonds by offering public outreach (like their visit to the museum today!), mentorship, education and home support.
Hmmm…I wonder what it would be like if I had wings instead of paws? Perhaps I’ll ask some of the exotic birds who will be joining the group and get their opinions on the subject!
If you haven’t been by the Manitoba Children’s Museum for a Spring Break visit yet, don’t delay! There’s one more day of fun planned before we’re closed for Easter Sunday (April 4), then it’s business as usual…regular museum hours return and with that means back to school time, too!
See you soon,

Al Sideen draws ChooChoo
The Spring Break fun continues at the Manitoba Children’s Museum!
Al Sideen, author of the “Learn to Draw” series for kids, will be by today to teach museum visitors how to draw from 11:00AM – 3:00PM. This is sure to be a great experience for budding artists, and not something to miss out on!
I had a friend ask Al to draw a picture of me using his special techniques - see the final product on the left. What do you think? I think it turned out great!!!
Oh, and my friends at Shop, the museum’s own toy store, also reminded me that they carry a wide range of Al’s “Learn to Draw” books. To learn more or to purchase one from Shop online, click here.
Hope to see you at the museum today,
