MCM Memory

Each holiday or celebration has been that much more special and fun with the Children’s Museum’s events. Our daughter, Raina, age 2 at the time, had a great time at the Halloween Howl in 2009 checking out the different Ancient Egypt galleries after getting her face painted. It’s too bad we won’t get to celebrate Halloween at the museum this year, but we look forward to what’s in store for next year!

Our favorite memory is heading to the famous yellow car that Uncle Kyle helped to fix up at Starfield Autobody. All three kids love jumping into the car and make believe they are going on a road trip. We will miss the car but look forward to new and exciting adventures the new museum will create for us!

Emily and her Father, Vance, had their very first daddy and daughter day out together last summer, they went to the children’s museum for the afternoon. Emily had such a wonderful time (and so did her dad :) ) She has been in love with trains ever since, she continues to talk about the museum in her creative play at home and often asks to go “to the museum at the forks.” Her daddy will cherish his memory with her there. We are sad to hear of the closure as we will miss having the chance to go but are excited that there will be new and exciting changes to the museum.

Our little conductor! Daryn loved sitting up in the train, pushing buttons, pulling levers, and calling “All aboard!”

Our daughter, 21, and our son, 10, are both DEVASTATED that the giant oak tree won’t be at the Children’s Museum after the renovation. Lots of time spent reminiscing about that tree. I certainly remember one of the first times we visited the museum and my daughter got scared in the tree, and I had to go in and help her to get through it !

My daughter’s favorite memory at the Children’s Museum is when I attended a series of workshops at the Museum on Positive Parenting and she was taken care of by a Museum Staff Member. It was after regular hours so the museum was closed to the public and she and a few other kids basically had the entire museum to themselves. She talks about it all the time and would like me to attend another workshop!
