The Children’s Museum was the first museum we took our daughter to. We have many happy memories of playing together and meeting other children and their parents in the galleries. We made almost monthly visits while she was very young as a safe and welcoming place before the renovation. As a child myself I remember playing with the wheel chairs and playing dress up for hours with my friends in the old location. It’s great to know that my children will both have those same positive memories. Already to our daughter the word “museum” means a magical place where imagination and learning combine and where families go to have fun.

Memory Gallery 32

Back when we were teens my best friend Alexis and I dressed up and took off to the children’s museum for a little taste of childhood again. here’s a picture from our awesome adventure, now as adults I have a 2 year old son and Alexis has a 1 year old niece and we are all eagerly awaiting the reopening of this awesome fun filled place, to share the even better experience with our young ones! Thank you Manitoba Children’s Museum for our past memories, and MORE TO FOLLOW! :)

My mom took my brother and I to the Children’s Museum as kids, I remember field trips there with school and even as an adult my friends and I still enjoyed a day there! I’m happy to say in a few years my daughter will be old enough to enjoy it as much as I did as a kid AND as an adult! I look forward to seeing the new Children’s Museum!

I loved bringing my son to the Children’s Museum. Visiting the Children’s Museum gave me the opportunity to expose my son to a lot of different subjects, and see what he gravitated toward. We don’t have a piano, but the Museum did. There was also a fish tank, a train table, piles of costumes and a felt board. There was chalk and chalk boards, Duplo tables, big wooden blocks and many types of art supplies to experiment with. My son could play with all of these things without my having to have it all at home. Of course, the best things at the Museum were the ones that no one has at home, like the giant tree slide, the TV studio, the train, and the traffic light. With so much to explore, it is no wonder that Nik suggested most mornings, “Let’s go to the museum!” Can’t wait to be able to say ‘Yes’ again.

Our daughter Corianne loved getting dressed up as an astronaut in the spaceship. After pushing all the buttons to take off she jumped up and said BLAST OFF!

My husband and I stopped in this summer while travelling across Canada with our then 8-year-old son Connor. I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable museums we were in and Connor did not want to leave and we made a second visit before we left Winnipeg he enjoyed it so much.

Hello, my name is Shae, I’m 9 years old and I have not visited the Museum as yet. I am so inspired by the Children’s Museum, so much that I’m presently doing a project on Manitoba. I have read a lot about the Museum and have viewed the photos and information on the internet. I hope I can still enter this contest, as I would love to visit.

Each holiday or celebration has been that much more special and fun with the Children’s Museum’s events. Our daughter, Raina, age 2 at the time, had a great time at the Halloween Howl in 2009 checking out the different Ancient Egypt galleries after getting her face painted. It’s too bad we won’t get to celebrate Halloween at the museum this year, but we look forward to what’s in store for next year!
